After the success of Te Heke Whakangā in Wairau, we’re updating the exhibition to take it to Motueka Museum in May.
The exhibition, which has a particular focus on Motueka, opens to the public at Motueka Museum on Saturday 17 May, and will run for 11 weeks.
We are still finalising the content, but hope to include Whakapapa, Motueka Reserves, Whakarewa, Te Awhina Marae, the 28th Māori Battalion and Ngāti Rārua whānau.
Call for photos
We are seeking your help to find photos of whānau or events relating to Ngāti Rārua in Motueka.
We want to honour and acknowledge those who have gone before us, and celebrate our whānau of today. If you have photos you are willing to share, we would really appreciate it.
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee all photos will be used in the exhibition as there is a limit on the space available, but we'll do our absolute very best to get in as many as possible.
