Snap Core expands into new facility
Ngāti Rārua has previously invested in Snap Core – a successful Whakatū based business exporting technology products and services to the world.
On Monday, Ngāti Rārua Pouwhakahaere Shane Graham signed a key terms sheet - which may lead to an additional investment, subject to due diligence.
Later that evening Ngāti Rārua representatives helped bless and open Snap Core’s new manufacturing facility on Beatty Street.
Oceans and Fisheries and Regional Development Minister Shane Jones cut the ribbon and paid tribute to Snap Core’s vision for success and expansion.
Starting off with simple web cameras, Snap Core now manufacture a wide range of hi-tech hardware, develop software and conduct research and development for the aquaculture industry.
Their cameras have been used in the Antarctic as well as at the equator at temperatures over 50 degrees celsius and are permanently installed underwater on aquaculture farms.
They also make solar powered GPS and satellite communication systems, as well as digital capture and onsite AI tools.
We are encouraged by Snap Core’s progress, and wish Chris and the team every success!
