New date for Whakapaetuara Hāngi
You are invited to a hāngi to celebrate the mahi undertaken at Whakapaetuara (Motueka Delta) to bring balance to those who have worked on the whenua, also to whakawhanaungatanga ki nga tātou for haukāinga, hapū, iwi and the many amazing people who have supported this kaupapa.
Saturday 3 May 2025 at 10 am (weather dependent)
We will meet at the Motueka SH60 bridge underpass – map is attached.
- 10.00am - Arrive at the bridge - Please meet at the marked area (blue star) on the map attached.
- 10.15am - Site kōrero from Daren
- 11.00am - Travel to site in convoy (limited vehicle space)
- 11.10am - Hīkoi around the site (kōrero on mahi Blair/Monique)
- 12.00pm - Lift the hāngi
- 12.30pm - Kai whakanoa
- 1.30pm - Kua mutu
The hāngi is being held
- for those who have worked here and left, kai whakanoa.
- to give opportunity for those who may wish to participate with the project, kai whakakotahitanga
- to give opportunity to those haukainga who have belonging but never set foot on this location before kai whakawhanaungatanga.
