Kaitiaki Pūranga: Brya Roussel

After a short internship, Brya Roussel has been appointed as the Kaitiaki Pūranga – Archives Administrator for Tokomaru Research Centre. 

Her role is to receive, organise, record, maintain and preserve Ngāti Rārua historical materials.    

Brya has a passion for Ngāti Rārua, has a strong administration background and is currently completing her second year of Rongoa Māori studies as well as Te Reo Māori. 

Not only has she archived over 40 boxes of archival material, she is now taking on Project Support roles with several Tokomaru Research Centre initiatives. 

She is interested in learning about Ngāti Rārua history and has learned a great deal in a short period of time!
