Kaimahi for Ka Ora Ka Ako
We're loving providing 300 deliciously healthy lunches to tamariki at Victory Primary School through our latest programme with the Ministry of Education and it's time to grow our team!
We're seeking two highly organised kaimahi that are as passionate about this kaupapa as we are, what could be better than making sure tamariki are not going hungry.
Both positions are based in Whakatū (Nelson). Kaimahi will learn all tasks that support Geoff the Chef (our superb Head Chef) and Weenie (yet to be sloganed) with the food preparation of the day to day lunch orders, cleaning, packing, delivery and distribution of the lunches.
Both roles are funded fixed term positions, working part time and during the school terms only, so would be perfect for a stay at home Mum or Dad.
You will need to be highly organised, efficient, and reliable. These are hands-on positions where all team members are required to awhi each other. You will be able to use your initiative and make a positive contribution to the team, including being a role model for the children at the school.
To ensure success in these roles you will need the following:
• Ability to follow recipes to produce and present food to a high standard
• Able to follow Ka Ora Ka Ako food safety policies and procedures
• Comply with Ka Ora Ka Ako Code of Conduct
• A great team member
• Strong work ethic
• Have a high standard of cleanliness
• Able to work in a standing position for up to 4 hours
• Ability to lift up to 10kgs
• A clean full NZ driver’s license with no restrictions
• Clear police check
A great opportunity to be part of this exciting kaupapa and to make a real difference to our community. Currently this role operates under the vaccine mandate requirements.
