He Kākano: Free course this weekend
A free Seed Conservation Training Course is being held at Te Āwhina Marae on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May 2024.
This is a fabulous opportunity for whānau who have a passion in this area, want to learn and understand more about kākano from collection through to seed storage and more.
This course is sponsored by Te Tira Whakamataki and our trainer is Te Aroha Drummond (Ngāti Mahuta ki te Hauauru), one of Aotearoa’s leading Māori seed expert.
The course is FREE and kai is provided.
We have held two spots for each iwi – we hope you are able to join and/or identify Iwi representatives or whānau who mahi in this space.

- Programme for the day – 9:30am start with a small Mihi Whakatau to welcome our manuhiri. Course is held in Tokomaru (Hui room off Te Piki Oranga office).
